Upper Back Pain CausesA program of upper back and neck exercises to relieve your pain is an area you may want to research and talk to your health care provider as in many cases; you can turn this discomfort around without the use of pain medication. Sound promising?

These two areas are the main culprits affected when you have a huge amount of stress. With the busiest time of the year approaching, it is good to have these in your self-help toolbox to use. Always check with your doctor before undergoing any exercise program.

The exercises will also give you better blood circulation to the head, which can only assist in your brain, eyes, ears, throat and surrounding area with rich benefits.

You will want to set aside a time for these exercises so you can be consistent and not interrupted. Take the phone off the hook, turn off your cell phone, and do some deep breathing exercises to relax. The exercises will help strengthen the muscle groups of the deltoids, which help raise your arms and rotate in all directions.

You will benefit the latisimus dorsi, which helps your shoulders, and the rhomboids, the muscle group affecting your shoulder blades. So now you can throw out the terms latisimus dorsi, deltoids, and rhomboids and impress your friends with our new vocabulary!

Those of you who work in an office and use a computer all day will benefit from these exercises also. Long periods of computer use can lead to upper neck and pain. Be proactive and keep an eye on your posture. Remember the force of gravity and keeping your spine in the optimal position will help keep at gravity in check.

Seriously, these exercises will help you feel better. You will have a new spark of energy while you help dissipate stress. Here are some suggestions, but don’t forget to check with your doctor. He can help add the required exercise to our program.

• With your feet slight apart, (for balance) stand up with your arms hanging loose on each side
• Take a deep breath and inhale while you move your head forward slowly until your chin touches your chest. Reverse the direction going backwards like you are nodding while you stretch your neck. Do this a total of ten repetitions.
• Focus on your head and move it to both sides looking upon your shoulders, while you give your neck a good stretch. Do this a total of ten repetitions.
• Again, a head focus while you move it to both sides placing an ear upon each shoulder and s l o w l y stretch. Do this a total of ten repetitions.
• Slowly move your head 360° right to left while you breath deeply through your diaphragm. Take a deep inhale through the nose and let it out wrinkling your lips.

Taking the time and being disciplined in action plan. Your upper back and neck exercise program will pay off.
